Family-run, estate-grown, and made by hand on twelve acres above the Rio Chama. Open for tastings daily at noon.
Cañón Rojo was planted in 2008 on a south-facing bench of volcanic soil, 5,800 feet above sea level. The long hot days and cool nights give us the structure and acidity we build every bottle around. We farm twelve acres of Tempranillo, Syrah, Graciano, Viognier, and Albariño — everything you drink here came from vines you can see from the tasting room porch.
We make a little over 3,000 cases a year. Every bottle is labeled and corked by hand. We don't distribute widely — if you want our wine, you either come see us, order online, or join the club.
